WordPress

Open-source PHP content management system that powers a majority of the public web; the primary platform for Nessim Works content-led builds.

Definition

In long form.

WordPress is the most widely deployed CMS in the world, with an open-source core, a large theme and plugin ecosystem, and a Gutenberg block editor that gives editorial teams direct control over page layout. It runs on PHP and MySQL/MariaDB; modern deployments usually pair it with managed hosting and a CDN. WordPress can run traditionally (rendered server-side, full theme) or headlessly (decoupled — the WP REST API or WPGraphQL feeds a separate front end like Next.js).

In context

Most Nessim Works web builds default to WordPress unless the engagement calls for a different fit. WordPress is also the foundation of the Hosting & Maintenance Care Plans practice — security patching, plugin hygiene, and performance tuning at scale.
